Bring Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room Home with New Mug Inspired by Singing Totem Poles at Disneyland

A new Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room mug has arrived, inspired by the classic attraction’s singing totem poles. The mug is now available at Disneyland Resort, and we found it in Fantasia Shop at

In the show, the totem poles are against the walls of the theater. The faces on the totems come to life when they sing, with their mouths opening and closing, and their eyes moving.

The exterior of the mug has a slightly shiny brown finish. There is a zig-zag stripe on the bottom and a rounded stripe on the top.

The interior is light blue. Disneyland Resort also recently released a José tiki mug at Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar.

Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room recently celebrated its 60th anniversary at Disneyland Park. It opened in California in 1963. Tropical Serenade, which was identical except for the pre-show, was an opening day attraction in 1971 at Magic Kingdom.

Tropical Serenade closed in 1997 to become The Enchanted Tiki Room (Under New Management) featuring Iago from “Aladdin” and Zazu from “The Lion King.” Though this version of the show was widely disliked, it remained in place until an attic fire in 2011. The original version of the show was then mostly restored and had its name reverted to the original title from Disneyland.

Another identical version was an opening day attraction at Tokyo Disneyland in 1983. In 1999, it became The Enchanted Tiki Room: Now Playing “Get the Fever!” In 2008, this version was once again replaced with The Enchanted Tiki Room: Stitch Presents “Aloha e Komo Mai!”

Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room at Disneyland is hosted by four macaws: José, Michael, Pierre, and Fritz. The show is approximately 15 minutes long and has about 150 audio animatronics. It features original music by the Sherman Brothers. In California, it was sponsored by United Airlines from 1963 to 1976 and has been sponsored by Dole Foods (creators of the Dole Whip) ever since. At Walt Disney World, it was sponsored by Florida Citrus Growers until 1986.
