The first mini PCs to feature Nvidia’s mid-range RTX 4000 cards will soon hit the Chinese market. Among the first OEMs to provide such systems will be Thunderobot, a company that primarily focuses on gaming laptops, yet it ventures into mini PC designs occasionally.
According to the teaser posted on ITHome, the mini PC will be part of the MIX lineup and will be powered by Intel’s Raptor Lake-HX processors, up to an i9 model, most likely the i9-13900HX. The GPU side will be limited to the RTX 4060, although it is not clear whether this is a desktop-grade or a laptop-grade version. Judging by the size of the case with 1.7 L volume, a desktop version could fit, but probably needs a custom cooler. Total system weight is expected to be less than 850 g.
ITHome also includes an image of Dell’s Alienware Alpha R2 mini PC that appears to have served as inspiration for the new MIX mini PC. This design was quite distinctive back in the Steam Machine days. From the teaser image of the upcoming MIX we can spot a few ports on the front side, including an audio jack, an HDMI video out plus one USB-A along with a USB-C port.
More spec details will be available upon launch, which is scheduled to happen at the BilibiliWorld event on July 21. ITHome estimates that the starting price will be around US$840.
